Head to Downtown South Bend for First Fridays! During the first Friday of every month, from 5-9 PM, First Fridays holds a themed event that contains live music performances, art galleries, and kid-friendly crafts and games. These events are typically free – making it the perfect weekend kick-off event for college students on a budget.

Named after the legendary, world-renowned stone in Cork, Ireland, you don’t have to kiss this Blarney Stone to have a good time! “Old Finnies” is a family-owned bar that is the prime place for students to let loose after a week of stressful tests and essays. While Olfs may be packed during the weekends, that doesn’t stop the bartenders and staff from providing nonstop quality service to each and every customer.

On Tuesday nights, O’Rourkes hands you the mic, and it’s up to you to provide the tunes. Located in Notre Dame’s Eddy Street Commons, O’Rourkes is an Irish pub that hosts fan-favorite karaoke nights each week. Sing your heart out to your favorite oldies or current radio hits. If you’re lucky, you might spot local radio show hosts Golic and Smitty in session, or you may get to chat with former women’s basketball coach Muffet McGraw!

The Fighting Irish like to fight hard and party harder. On game days, University of Notre Dame students and South Bend football fans begin piling into the parking lots as early as 7 AM. That’s right – tailgating here is an all-day event. Get yourself pumped for the game as you drink and listen to the talented Band of the Fighting Irish perform traditional Notre Dame marching songs.
